I started this blog in the summer of 2010 to address a growing problem:

Kids are more aware, but less educated, about the health problems that affect them.

I’ve seen this first hand as a teacher and community organizer. Internet-ready devices put a world of health information at kids’ fingertips. But is this information accurate? Is it safe? Will it help them make better decisions?

The answer is unfortunately no. But that doesn’t mean that young people aren’t interested in understanding. Kids want to be educated about their health, make better decisions, and become leaders in their families and communities.

For years I’ve watched kids suffer from obesity, asthma, and other health problems. I’ve watched their parents, doctors, social workers, and teachers struggle to help kids overcome these issues.

I hope this blog will provide the facts and advice everyone needs to tackle these pressing issues.
